Österreich

Österreich bedeckt 83,879 km2, 62% ist gebirgig, 47,2% ist Wald. Das Land ist in 9 Bundesländer unterteilt. Wien ist die Hauptstadt und auch Bundesland.

Vom Jahre 976 – 1251 herrschten die Babenberger und vom Jahre 1282 – 1918 die Habsburger. Diese lange Periode zweier Herrscherhäuser, denen Kunst und Kultur am Herzen lag, ermöglichte die Sammlung der Kulturgüter, die es hier in reichem Maße gibt. Allein in Wien haben wir 311 Museen, 112 Theater und 111 Paläste.

Österreich ist aber auch ein Land mit Naturschönheiten und jahrhundertealten Traditionen. Wir haben 6 Nationalparks, 3 Biosphärenparks, 219 Natura 2000 Gebiete, 461 Naturschutzgebiete, sowie den einzigen Urwald in Mitteleuropa.

Auch die Kulinarik kommt nicht zu kurz. Schon im Mittelalter wurde Österreich als das Land bezeichnet, in dem man gerne isst und trinkt.

Es ist mir ein Anliegen, diese Schätze zu präsentieren.

Austria

Austria is not a vast country, it covers 84,000 km², 62% is mountainous, 30% is forest and the rest 8% is the towns and cities. This makes it a place of natural beauty wherever you look! The country is divided in 9 separate districts and Vienna is the capital.

The country was ruled by the Babenbergs from 976 – 1251 and from 1282-1918 by the Habsburgs. These two long dynasties, both of whom saw art and culture as something important and positive enabled a centuries long tradition of amassing fantastic collections of sculptures, art and visual entertainment that has become world famous. In Vienna there are more than 300 museums, 112 theatres and 111 palaces.

Austria is also a country with wonders of nature and hundred years old traditions. There are 6 national parks, 3 biosphere reservations, 219 Natura 2000 areas, 461 protected landscapes and the only virgin forest in Middle Europe.

It is my wish to present to you these treasures.

L´Autriche couvre 83,879 km², 62% est montagneux, 47, % consiste en forêt. Le pays est partagé en 9 départements. Vienne est la capitale et aussi département.

La maison de Babenberg régnait de 976 – 1251 et la maison de Habsbourg de 1282 – 1918. Cette longue période de 2 dynasties, qui aimait l´art et la culture, a permis de collectionner des biens culturelles, qui existent en masse.  À Vienne nous avons 311 musées, 112 théâtres et 111 palais.

L´Autriche est aussi un pays de beauté naturelle et de traditions anciennes. Nous avons 6 parques nationales, 3 réserves de biosphère, 219 Natura 2000 régions,  461 réserves naturelles et la seule forêt vierge en l’Europe centrale.

Mais aussi l´art culinaire est une partie importante. Dès le Moyen Âge on a décrit l´Autriche comme un pays où on aime manger et boire.

C´est mon désir de présenter ce trésor.
